About Us

Venezuela is a country located in South America, and it counts with a gastronomy inherited from our indigenous living in the Amazon area (yes! the same place where we have the tallest waterfall in the world, The Angel's Falls or "Paradise Falls") and one of the most famous dishes, is our delicious Arepas!

 It was created by the indigenous over 500 years ago, crushing the corn until make it a powder, then adding water and cooking it on firewood, until it get toasted, being these the first Arepas. With the time, all the Venezuelans, adopted it as their breakfast, lunch and even dinner, always changing the filling of each Arepa to make it more special and after more than 500 years, the Arepa keeps being the favorite food all over the world, for every Venezuelan, specially those abroad, like is the case of the owners of "Chamos Grill & Bar"

Chamos Grill & Bar is proudly owned by a Syrian guy, who since he visited Venezuela, he felt in love with the country and he decided to call himself "Venezuelan at heart" and a Venezuelan woman, who had a dream of sharing her traditions and amazing country all over the world. This couple had to move out of Venezuela even when they didn't want to, so they decided to created  this restaurant, with the idea of bringing part of their culture and food to the Canadian community and at the same time, to have the chance to have part of Venezuela close to them, since they don't see it just as a restaurant, but as a meeting point for the Latin community in Canada.

They started first in 2022 in a very small place, just a take-out location, to be more precise, and after trying different combinations and plates, they realize that the Arepas and Empanadas were very good accepted by the community, and it is when they decided to move their location and open a full place, where more than Arepas, every day, they offer to the public a variety of Latin dishes, from Colombia, Peru, Mexico and more, including Canadian dishes as well.  Every day a team of professionals and lovely people, make their efforts to keep this place growing up, and at the same time, to share with everybody a test of Venezuela, never forgetting about the culture and heritage of this small but special country.

And if you have been wondering what means "CHAMOS", it is a very friendly world that is used in Venezuela to make reference to a group of young people or a group of friends, and since we think that the age is just a number and all our clients are like friends, we proudly say "WELCOME CHAMOS- BIENVENIDOS CHAMOS"

This journey is just starting, but we will be more than happy of sharing all our way with you!
